This idea takes the soil and rock removed during tunnelling, materials that would normally be discarded, and gives them a second life. Instead of ending up as waste, the students imagined a machine that compresses and transforms these leftover materials into something new and genuinely useful, cutting down on what gets sent to landfill from major construction projects.
Community stalls set up around the world where people can donate materials, which are then recycled and compressed into brand new products.
