They created something that many young people quietly wish existed: a place that simply feels safe. Stay a Day envisions a dedicated building, a warm, welcoming space for young people who don’t feel comfortable at home or in standard social settings, where they can connect with others and find genuine support without judgement. At its heart, the idea is about ensuring every young person has somewhere to turn.
Recognising that this need exists in schools right now, the team has proposed a quiet room within their own school, a dedicated space for students who need a moment away, with a particular focus on providing an alternative for girls who feel uncomfortable participating in PE during their period. It’s a compassionate, practical first step toward a much bigger vision. Stay a day to feel okay.
