CPP (Connecting People and Places)
To push back against modern loneliness and revive a true sense of community, CPP is creating an intuitive digital bridge. Users simply input their personal hobbies and interests into the app, which then generates a localized map pinpointing exactly where they can find nearby clubs, social groups, or community spaces tailored to their favorite activities.
To physically manifest this concept of connection on campus, the students are painting a colorful map of Warrnambool directly onto the highly frequented Year 8 school building.
Mood a-llama
Combatting body insecurity requires a daily dose of positivity, and Mood a-llama turns self-love into a fun, interactive routine. This unique alarm app refuses to shut off in the morning until the user says three genuine, positive things about themselves. To keep users motivated, the app features a digital pet llama whose happiness depends entirely on the user’s daily self-affirmations and care.
The team is taking their message directly into local schools to run positivity programs for Years 5–7 and teachers, actively leaving behind physical jars packed with daily affirmations for classrooms.
ABComfort
For those facing mental health challenges or tough times, finding a physical sense of security can be incredibly difficult. ABComfort reimagines everyday streetwear by designing a specialized hoodie that doubles as a wearable safe haven. When the wearer feels overwhelmed, the jumper dynamically tightens and wraps around them, mimicking the calming, therapeutic pressure of a comforting hug.
To build support and kick off their initiative, the students are organizing a community-wide colour run designed to spread awareness and open up conversations about mental health struggles.
Green Leaf Corporation
Green Leaf Corporation is an innovative educational initiative designed to tackle climate change from the classroom up. The concept centers on creating an entire training program that educates teachers on environmental conservation and the vital importance of saving our planet. These teachers then pass this crucial knowledge directly down to their students through a brand-new, dedicated school subject called ‘Environmentals’. To kickstart their mission, the team is bringing a local environmentalist to school assemblies to deliver an engaging video presentation, alongside a “gold coin” green dress-up day to spark immediate campus awareness.
PETSHARE
Gabby, Alex A, Alex, Ella and Leo found a heart-warming way to help young people make real connections, through animals. PETSHARE is a club where members bond over a shared love of pets, with a furry companion to care for along the way. To bring it to life, they’re running an excursion to a local animal shelter, where students spend the day learning about animals and connecting with each other. A pet to help you connect.
People Watch TM
Sophia, Eva and Scarlett designed for those moments when you just want to feel safe, fast. People Watch is an app with one big button you can press the moment something feels off, calling in a trained team to keep watch and step in. To put their idea into action, they’re surveying Year 8 students to map exactly what and where makes young people feel unsafe in the community. Keeping you safe no matter the place.
Granny and Me
Dayna, Ebony, Molly, Lily and Damon believe no one should feel alone in later life. Granny and Me connects older people with younger generations through shared adventures and new places, building friendships across age groups. To make it real close to home, they’re pairing a local primary school group with a nursing home to read stories together. Together forever.
Road-Bots
Manal, Matilda, Yousra and Nadia set out to make their town feel safer to move through, day and night. Road-Bots imagines a friendly robot that patrols the community, spotting hazards and clearing them before anyone gets hurt. To get started, they’re taking a simple but powerful step: adding lights to the darker corners of town that feel unsafe after dark. Feel safer with our life saver.
Job Tutor
Tom, Damon and Vincent wanted getting work-ready to feel less overwhelming and a lot more doable. Job Tutor brings the tools, resources and know-how young people need into one friendly place, cutting through the noise of the job hunt. To bring it to life, they’re building a simple website that links to basic tools and how-to videos to help young people get work ready. No noise, just your future.
Job Seeker
Caleb, Matthew and Braxton took on local unemployment by rethinking how people find work close to home. Job Seeker is a device with a built-in map that surfaces every job within a 10km radius, putting local opportunity right in people’s hands. To put their idea into action, they’re partnering with their school to create social media videos that showcase real jobs students can apply for today. Seeking a job was never easier.
