Born out of a desire to transform the dull, grey birds-eye view of Melbourne, ‘Nature Roof’ strives to bring people together through creating natural spaces on top of rooftops.
Through transforming roofs into green spaces, this team aims to bring people closer to nature and encourage greater care for the environment. Not only will this have aesthetic benefits, but will improve air quality, foster connections with nature, and promote mental health through providing a calm escape within urban areas.
To trial the idea of Nature Roofs, this team will run a trial which provides local families with a micro garden kit for native shrubs on local streets. By scanning a QR code, individuals will receive a starter kit full of information and seeds to plant and watch grow, hoping to spark a passion for gardening and appreciation of nature.
