Trees are the lungs of our planet. They provide the oxygen we all require to live. But beyond this, they are also the home and food source for many animal species. This team have developed an idea called the Man-Made Tree Seeds. These seeds have been genetically coded to repel animals from using them as their habitat.
The thinking: these fast growing, high yield seeds result in big, strong trees which can be removed and regrown with relative speed, preventing the need to clear additional land and destroy the local ecosystem. By creating a seed that repels animals, the logging of these trees will have little to impact on the surrounding animal life.
