The idea centres on a smart plant pot that automatically waters plants, delivering the correct amount of water directly to the soil through a simple automated system. The device could be connected to a hose or small water supply, allowing plants to be cared for even when their owners are away.
This system would be especially useful for people who travel frequently, forget to water their plants, or have physical limitations that make plant care difficult. By delivering water more efficiently, the pot could also reduce waste and help plants grow more consistently.
Alongside the product, the team plans to create a companion app called Plant Care Made Easy (PCME). The app would allow users to enter the type of plant they own and receive simple instructions on how to care for it. In the future, the team hopes QR codes on plants in stores could link directly to the app, making plant care information easily accessible to customers.
