We are trying to make the internet a better place where people feel safe enough to be authentic/themselves. In order to make it more inclusive and comfortable to be in, our idea is to protest against the regulations and practices of large media companies and their CEOs. We also propose a boycott against said companies and their apps. Doing this would land sites in other, most suitable candidate’s’ hands, who would actually ban racist, misogynistic, homophobic, ableist or transphobic people, and not give them a platform to spread hatred and/or propaganda. We are trying to get rid of the people in charge who don’t do anything about cyber-bullying and get people who are fair and have morals in charge.
The idea is to protest against against the manipulative media the whole of the corporations and boycott the apps under their control. An event would be organised as a protest against said social media. It is for the people who are judged and treated differently on the internet, and who, even when they have reported their harassers, still remain under fire for their differences as said people haven’t been banned or reprimanded.
People will love it because everyone knows how far “X” (Twitter) has come since Elon Musk took over, but they don’t remember that it was still a breeding ground for hatred and propaganda before the control was shifted. Other apps really aren’t any better. The (typically) men who control the apps will leave their posts and people who actually care about others will fix the internet and change regulations for the better, as well as banning those terrible people who harass, oppress and harm instead of supporting their existence by allowing them a platform.
