Can’t we all step up play a role in ensuring everyone in our community has a safe place to stay? Jamie, Lillian and Cody have designed a solution to enable this, The Homeless Shelter Locator (HSL). The HSL is an app allows users to find a safe place to stay in their community. Community members can sign up and become verified to offer their spare bed, meal, or shower to users.
To trial this idea the team are going to launch a sleeping rough experience at their school. Whereby participates will camp at school for a night with only a blanket and a piece of cardboard to sleep on. This will help participants build empathy for those sleeping experiencing homelessness.
