Imagine attending a job fair and receiving an SD card tailored to a career you’re curious about. Plug it into a VR headset, and you’re transported into a “day in the life” of that job. Missy, Alex, Spencer, Zoe, and Jake envision this immersive technology as the future of career exploration, giving students firsthand experience in various fields and helping them make informed career choices.
To bring their vision to life, they’ll develop a single VR program simulating a day in the life of a specific job. Adding a gaming element, the program will challenge students to solve real workplace problems. They plan to showcase this interactive experience to Gisborne Secondary College Year 8 students during a day visit, introducing them to the exciting possibilities of career-focused VR.
