Reducing land fill and is a huge challenge but vital in caring for our environment. Enter ‘The Money Bin’, all public bins in the community can be replaced with a specific bin that incentivises recycling, compost and waste bins.
The user simply taps their smart phone on the specific bin they place their waste material in. The ‘Money Bin’ allocates specific points that can be used to fund vouchers and purchase desired items. People don’t have to collect their own garbage bags of refundable trash and then find a recycle depot. Money Bin makes it east to be immediately rewarded for reducing landfill.
To trial their idea, the team have designed a simple calendar that educates residents about the importance of reducing land fill and highlights all the options that are readily available to their household and in community.
