How might we use technology to encourage positive online behaviours? We
are on a mission to make social media platforms a positive and safe place for
everyone to use. We are trying to solve the issue of cyberbullying by making
sure everyone is their online best and ensuring they are who they truly are.
We care about solving this as we want to prioritise making sure everyone feels safe and comfortable online.
Our idea is to build a non-deletable, pre-installed app that prevents
cyberbullying by not allowing you to post, message or say anything hurtful,
disrespectful or mean. The name of our app is called The Bully Blocker. If you
try to type, post, or say anything rude or disrespectful over text the
keyboard will not show your message. In addition to this, if you are on call
with someone and you attempt to say something bad or hurtful all that will
come across on their end of the call is the sound of a airhorn so they will not
be able to hear and acknowledge it. The bully blocker is used by everyone to
promote a safer online community and stop cyber bullying.
People will love the app The Bully Blocker because it will promote a safer
online community, help people be honest and positive. Everyone will feel as
though they will be able to use media platforms without being bullied. The
impact of the app will be it will promote equality and kindness, it will stop cyberbullying and promote mental health.
