This team’s big idea is to create a car that sucks in CO2 as fuel and releases oxygen. Via a photosynthetic reaction, energy is captured and can be used as fuel for the car. This idea aims to solve a range of problems pertinent to the environment. It is a carbon neutral car that increases environmental oxygen and has the additional benefit of creating new jobs in Australia.
This idea will be trialled in the community through the creation of a scaled back version of the car in the form of a remote control car. This smaller prototype will use renewable energy to highlight the benefits that can be achieved at a small scale, with the view to then scale up product size and product capability.
