What is an innovative way we can provide support to those experiencing homelessness and hardship in our community? A cook off of course!
Our Kitchen Cookoff is a community-based event which will provide support for those who need it. It will involve a cooking competition where local chefs and community members will cook meals which will be judged by those with lived experience. It will have art stalls which showcases local artists works and it will have a cooking class based on the concept of ‘paddock-to-plate’ as it will involve the ingredients found in a kitchen garden. All the funds raised for the event will be put towards creating a new community garden and kitchen for those members of the community experiencing hardship.
To trial this idea, the team are going to run a mini cooking competition within the local community and donate the food to relevant community organisations.
