With the upcoming Victorian state election, as a community there needs to be action taken to make sure issues and policies impacting the LGBTQIA+ community are at the forefront of conversation and LGBTQIA+ rights are protected. The Lavender Coalition will be a political and community action group that promotes the expansion of LGBTQIA+ rights and community initiatives. It will educate people on LGBTQIA+ struggles and highlight stories. It will all be housed in an app/website.
To trial this idea, the team will create social media accounts which educates users on policies, events and demonstrations that involve the LGBTQIA+ community and it will act as an educational resources for allies to learn more.
