85% of all textiles go to landfill each year. How can we reduce this impact on our environment? Hash Tag! Hash Tag uses innovative technology, as a friction activated tag that can be rubbed out. It will be embedded onto clothing across the country. This will reduce the amount of clothing tags ending up in landfill and our oceans. The tags will also be available to personalise, so that if a piece of clothing is gifted it can be personalised for the receiver.
To trial this idea, the team will work with their local Cotton On to trial a friction-activated stamp and collaborate with a developer to create the stamp. They will then collect data on the reduction of clothing tags ending up in landfill as a result of their trial.
