When students get out of the classroom, they are more engaged in their education. This team wants to develop a learning program which gets students more engaged in their education and also connects them to country. Hands On will involve students taking a walking tour of sacred Indigenous sites of the Peek Whurrong People with Indigenous Elders. It will allow students to get outside and learn about the traditional custodians of the land and their relationship to the land.
To trial this idea, the team hope to partner with their school to run the Hands On program over 1-term, with 1-class of year 9 students.
