Feeling safe in the community is one of the fundamental freedoms we strive for but unfortunately, not everyone feels this way.
Hanshu, Amelia and Louie want to support people feeling safe from violence and have developed the idea for a keyring that will help do this.
The keyring is designed to have three buttons, one for each of the emergency services: police, paramedics, and fire service. The keychain will give authorities access to your location when triggered and allow for voice communication between authorities and the user.
To promote people feeling safe in the community, the team will trial their idea by running three self-defence workshops with local year 6 students, educating them on how to protect themselves in a dangerous situation, and on the local services that exist in the community.
