People only wear about 40% of their wardrobe. This is a massive issue within our society as fast fashion has become a dominant industry, producing clothes that are cheap, trendy and not made to last. This team has identified this issue and to highlight the importance of sustainable fashion alternatives. They have developed the idea of Fashtainow, an ethical and sustainable fashion show which invites people to create a garment out of an sustainable fabric or reusing a material. They will then be celebrated in a fashion show.
To trial this idea, the team will run a mini fashion show with Leopold Primary in the Geelong area. They will task Year 5 & 6 students with creating a garment out of household materials or by repurposing their old clothes and then they will be showcased.
