It would probably surprise most people about how much landfill waste they produce on a day-to-day basis, and often people find it too difficult or are just unaware of what can be recycled or composted instead.
Max, Rory, Nathan and Kai have developed an idea for an eco-bin, an easier way for people to keep track of their waste. It will provide reports on what you are throwing out, and whether it will contribute to landfill, or if it can be recycled or composted.
To trial the idea, the team will run a school-based challenge where year 7 students will monitor rubbish at CCW, and calculate how much general rubbish will end up in landfill over a month.
