Born out of the crazy idea of ‘creating a food that fills you up for a decade’, ‘Beet Meat’ aims to reduce the environmental impact of the meat industry by providing a beetroot-based meat alternative. Through promoting and selling artificial meat products, this team wants to create a more sustainable food industry that slows the effects of climate change. Beet Meat encourages people to move away from traditional meat options by choosing an option that is more sustainable and does not harm animals.
To trial this idea, the team will organise a fake meat BBQ to promote meat-free alternatives in their local community. They aim to partner with Woolworths and Ryan’s IGA within the local Ballarat community to raise awareness surrounding the quality of existing meat-free alternatives.
