Uprooting your entire life and moving to a new community is incredibly hard. The loss of connections can lead people to feel isolated and alone. This team have responded by getting straight to the heart of the challenge. New, isolated and lonely members of the community (inc. refugees) will live with a local family for one week upon joining a community, to form a sense of community and ease their transition.
After the first week, the new arrivals will complete a connectedness plan and receive a ‘support buddy’ to check in and make sure they are staying connected.
