About 1,700 plant and animal species are listed as threatened under the Australian Government’s Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act. It’s time to learn more about these endangered species and how they can be protected, that’s where the app Is it Endangered? comes in. This app will track endangered animals, their vitals and their location in order to protect and monitor them. If they are at risk, they will be taken to an animal sanctuary to recover and people will be able to watch a live stream of them.
To trial this idea, the team will create a picture book to share with the Year 3 and 4 students at a local primary school. The book will include information about endangered animals and will be designed in collaboration with a local artist.
