After the last couple of years of lockdowns and disconnection, it is time to reconnect again. That is where The Community Orchard comes in. The Community Orchard is a place to connect with your community, connect with the older and younger generations, and to access fresh, nutritious produce. The orchard will have a greenhouse for exotic tropical fruits to grow, allowing the community to be introduced to new produce. It will be a space for conversation to be shared over a fresh piece of fruit.
To trial this idea, this team will create a community orchard on their school grounds. It will be filled with fruits planted by parents, students and teachers. It will give Year 7s a chance to not only connect with each other but also with the older students.
