This team has identified the prevalence and impacts of racism, homophobia and gender inequality in their community.
To combat this issue the team have developed Culture Pride Equality Day. CPE Day will be a festival that is run in the Geelong community to celebrate a diverse range of cultures, identities and backgrounds. It will be a festival for all, to celebrate differences and diversity. This event would give people from all walks of life a platform to feel safe and welcome in their community.
To trial this idea, the team will run a one-day event at their school which will involve people from diverse backgrounds sharing their stories. There will be food stalls and performance that aim to bring people together and to celebrate difference.
