Single use plastic bags are incredibly harmful to our environment, especially our oceans.
Ocean Day will be a chance for students and teachers to come together and learn about how to protect the world’s waters and marine life. Students will be offered a range of activities and will be able to select to suit their interests. Students will learn to build resources that will help the future generations. The team hopes to collaborate with a marine biologist and water pollution expert to inform the day and to share information to educate participants.
To trial this idea, the team will run a mini-Ocean Day event at Iona which will include a workshop and a guest speaker to come in and talk about their knowledge on the impact of plastic and pollution on marine life and the ocean.
